Celibashi requests the Parliament: Extend the deadline for complaints regarding

The Central Election Commission is requesting amendments to the Electoral Code regarding complaints from voters abroad.

The Head of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, has addressed a request to the Parliament proposing that the deadline for filing a complaint be 7 days before the elections, and in the case of emigrants, at least 30 days before the elections, so that the postal vote can be sent and returned.

"I propose that the request for registration in the list of voters who vote from outside the territory of the Republic of Albania be submitted to the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana up to 30 days before the election date. This request can also be submitted online through an electronic platform approved by the High Judicial Council," said Celibashi.

According to the Central Election Commission, this change would provide voters from abroad the opportunity to exercise their right to vote through a simple process and without being hindered by geographical and time distance.
