Online fraud, Association of Banks: Beware! Do not give out card details

The Association of Banks has reacted after dozens of complaints from citizens, after they fell prey to online fraud in recent days.

They have reported receiving phone or email messages with commercial offers or postal funds and packages, asking for bank account details.

The Banks Association calls for these texts to be deleted or ignored by people.

"These fraudulent attempts are carried out mainly through SMS, emails and social networks, asking citizens to follow suspicious links. If the links are followed, the fraudsters ask for personal data and security details, such as codes, PINs, etc., carrying out illegal transactions in favor of their accounts ," explained Spiro Brumbulli, Secretary General of the Albanian Association of Banks.

Commercial banks and institutions have taken measures to curb fraudsters and in the meantime call on every bank card holder to contact their bank and report any suspicions.
