The Police Surveillance Agency in Tirana has arrested in flagrante delicto two officers of the Shqiponja Police Force, who took 100 euros from a driver, in order to avoid his punishment with a fine for violating traffic rules.

According to the police announcement, the inspector with the initials AC, 36 years old, with the duty of General Patrol in the "Shqiponja" Special Force Sector, near the Tirana Local Police Directorate, was arrested. Inspector H.XH, 26 years old, with the duty of General Patrol in the Special Force Sector "Shqiponja", near the Tirana Local Police Directorate, was also arrested.

During the personal check, the amount of 1420 Euros, 8800 Lek, as well as 4 mobile phones were found and seized from these employees as material evidence.

Police notification:

Tirana - The Tirana Region Police Surveillance Agency has arrested 2 police officers in the act, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions".

The arrested are:

- Inspector AC, 36 years old, with the duty of General Patrol in the Special Force Sector "Shqiponja", near the Tirana Local Police Directorate;

- Inspector, H.XH, 26 years old, with the duty of General Patrol in the "Shqiponja" Special Force Sector, near the Tirana Local Police Directorate.

The arrest was made after these police officers were caught red-handed taking 100 euros from a driver, in order to avoid his punishment with a fine for violating the traffic rules.

During the personal check, the amount of 1420 Euros, 8800 Lek, as well as 4 mobile phones were found and seized from these employees as material evidence.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office of the First Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana.
