Attack on Rama's escort two years ago, Prosecution closes investigations

The Prosecution of the Judicial District of Elbasan has closed the investigation for the attack on the escort of the Prime Minister Edi Rama during a working visit to Librazhd in 2019.

According to News24, the defendants were arrested by the chairmen of the Democratic Party of Elbasan district branches and a former deputy.

DP officials have been charged with "Organizing, participating in rallies, illegal demonstrations", "Obstructing the circulation of vehicles" and "Obstructing electoral subjects".

These are Bujar Vreto, chairman of the Democratic Party in Librazhd, Aurel Bylykbashi, former deputy of the Democratic Party in Elbasan, Arjan Karriqi chairman of the Democratic Party in Përrenjas, two secretaries of the Democratic Party, Leonard Ozuni and Erlind Gurra and two supporters of the Democratic Party, Bujar Kojku Dashamir Boja.

Recall that the incident occurred on June 13, 2019 at the entrance of Librazhd where the Prime Minister's escort was attacked with heavy weapons, as he was greeted with protests by residents of Librazhd. His escort was hit at the time by citizens with eggs, vegetables and cardboard.
