The immunologist, Genc Sulçebe said that Albania is still very far from the immunity of the herd. Speaking about the pandemic situation, he told "This Week" that the only hope is herd immunity although he acknowledges that the cases will not go away completely.

According to the doctor, it will take several more months for the country to achieve herd immunity.

"We are far, whether in Tirana and Albania. We are not approaching, we are still far. It can not be predicted. At this rate, it is a not very complicated calculation. If at the beginning of July we were at 7%, after 6 months we go to 40-45%.

How much do we need at 70%. It takes several months. There can be no complete immunity. I had to intervene vaccine. The vaccine is the best, fastest, tool for the collective immunity of the herd. That we will stop the infection. It will not disappear, but the cases will be rarer " , added the doctor.
