This is Majlind Habibi, the 35-year-old who killed his friend for harassing his wife

The 35-year-old in the photo is Majlind Habibi, the person who killed his friend in Durrës Hospital.

Habibi is accused of throwing his friend off a bridge on December 2, who later lost his life in the canal.

The 35-year-old was arrested yesterday (December 10) by Durrës police.

The body of victim Branko Shkoza was found on December 5th after the victim's father filed a complaint.

According to the perpetrator's testimony, during the conflict, in a moment of anger, he pushed Shkoza into the canal.

But, he adds, he had no intention of killing the victim, and then left, thinking the canal was shallow. Before pushing her into the canal, Habibi testified that he told him not to harass his wife anymore, but the victim replied that she would solve her own problems.

When he learned that Branko had not gone home, he went to the canal the next day and saw the drowned body, adding to his charges of failing to report the crime.

Investigations continue to fully uncover the crime.

“ Citizen H. Sh., resident of neighborhood no. 15 Durrës, on 04.12.2024, reported to the Durrës Police Station that since 02.12.2024, his son citizen B. Sh., 33 years old, had left the apartment and had lost contact with him.

The Police Services carried out intensive checks and on 05.12.2024, they made it possible to find the dead body of citizen HB.

An examination of the victim's body revealed no signs of violence, but an examination of the scene and other investigative actions led the investigation team to suspect that the incident was not accidental.

Following in-depth investigative actions, it was documented with scientific evidence that citizen MH, 35 years old, resident of neighborhood no. 15 Durrës, on 02.12.2024, after a conflict for weak motives, pushed and threw citizen B. Sh from a bridge into the sewage canal, who lost his life as a result of the fall.

The Serious Crimes Investigation Sector in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, after intensive investigative work carried out in relation to the denunciation made by a citizen, made it possible to identify and capture the perpetrator of the murder of citizen B. Sh., 33 years old.

"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action ," the police announced.
