The Greek side at the Kapshtica border crossing has announced that it will not allow trucks to pass through its territory, due to the heavy snowfall and bad weather that has engulfed Albania. 

The police announce that only cars and buses will be allowed to pass, which must be equipped with winter tires and chains.

" Due to difficult weather conditions, the Greek Border Police has notified the Korça Border Police that from 17:00 on 12.01.2025 and until further notice, the movement of heavy tonnage vehicles (trucks) will not be allowed through the Kapshtica Border Crossing Point, towards the Greek state.

Only cars and buses will be allowed to pass, which must be equipped with winter tires and chains.

"The State Police appeals to all drivers of heavy vehicles who have planned to travel to Greece through the Kapshtica Border Crossing Point not to travel to this point, pending notification the next day from the Greek Border Police, regarding the permission for their movement," the police statement said.
