Sociologist Gëzim Tushe, analyzing the situation, says that the drop in births is an alarm bell.

"It is not only a demographic problem. It is an alarm bell, the decrease in the number of the population, the decrease in the number of , the increase in life expectancy, are having a negative effect", said the sociologist Tushe.

If the situation will continue at these rates, in the next 10 years, the predictions are not cheap.

"It seems that Albanian society is starting to lack population, it is starting to lack society," he said.

The sociologist emphasizes that the negative impact that follows from the reduction of the workforce is evident in the pension scheme.

If the decline in births and the emigration of young people will continue at these rates, the population of Albania according to the projections made by the United Nations.
