A powerful explosion with explosives occurred in the grounds of a building in Pogradeci. The explosive device was placed between the first and second floors.

It is suspected that the target of this tritol attack was Meard Berberi, a well-known person with a significant criminal record.

The barber was part of the group that attacked the 'Voloreka' Hotel with weapons in 2020.

He was convicted for the criminal offense of "Extortion through threats or violence to give away property", committed in cooperation. He has been employed by the local structures of the municipality of Pogradec, specifically in the institution of Water and Sewerage, as a legal director.

In 2016, Meard Berberi was involved in a conflict with the head of Waterworks, after the latter demoted him, and asked to leave him as a simple employee. As a result, Barber threatened him with his life.

Hotel Voloreka was at the center of two gun attacks within 7 days, on August 1 and 8, 2020, where its owner Jetmir Muçllari was the focus. For this event, 5 people were arrested, among them Ilir Berberi, also known as "Liri i Rushka", the organizer of the attacks.
