The hearing against the former secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Arlind

The Tirana court has postponed the first preliminary hearing for the former Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, Arlind Gjokutaj, for whom the prosecution has requested a trial for abuse of office.

Gjokutaj himself asked the court today for the return of the acts for investigation in the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana with the argument that it has not become comprehensive. Also, the prosecutor's office requested a trial for Ilir Thana on the charge of theft, as the latter requested the dismissal of the case.

As for Fatmir Hoxha, legal director of the Ministry of Finance, the prosecution itself requested the dismissal of the case. On the other hand, for the executor Alban Ruli, the prosecution requested to be tried for abuse of duty, while the defendant himself requested to proceed with a shortened trial.

Even the prosecutor has asked to postpone the session in order to get to know the alleged requests of the lawyers, to give her arguments. Under these conditions, the session was postponed by the black squads for another day.

We remind you that shortly after Arlind Gjokutaj's arrest, where he stayed in the prison hospital, his security measure was changed from "Prison Arrest" to house arrest, while a few weeks later he again gained a lighter measure as an obligation to appear.

Meanwhile, Alban Ruli, private bailiff, and Fatmir Hoxha, legal director at the Ministry of Finance, continue to remain under "house arrest".

The officials of this department are accused by the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana of abuse of office related to the compensation procedures of a property worth about 1.2 million euros.
