After the serious incident in Himara, the General Director of the State Police, Gladis Nano, went to the field to inspect the additional measures taken to increase security on the beaches.

But already a 7-year-old has lost her life, as a result of the non-implementation of the measures on the beaches. These days, a high number of vessels have been seized, but the event in Himarë proved that the measures were not taken and that they were used near the coast.

Nano, accompanied by other senior officials, met the officers, who cover the coastal area in the Lezhë district. The General Director has requested commitment for the rigorous implementation of tasks and measures, with the aim of preventing events that harm the life and health of vacationers.

"Work with dedication and responsibility, as the task you perform is as difficult as it is noble. With your work, commitment and honesty, you have in your hands the lives and safety of citizens, the image of the State Police, as well as the country as a whole. This is a privilege, as well as a responsibility, so don't neglect anyone, whoever it is, follow the law and only the law and serve the citizens with dedication and humanity" , said Nano.
