The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti has held a meeting with the leaders of the opposition parties on the situation at the border. He received the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi and the chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku.

They expressed their support for Kurti for the rule of law throughout Kosovo and for the protection of its borders. Krasniqi and Abdixhiku stressed support for the Kosovo Police and other state institutions.

"The situation and developments in the northern part of the Republic of Kosovo were discussed, and the commitment of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo in the service of peace and security, constitutionality and legality in the country was emphasized, " reads the announcement of Kurti's press office.

As of Monday, the two border crossings connecting Kosovo with Serbia, Janirje and Brnjak, are blocked. The situation in the north of Kosovo escalated, after the establishment of reciprocity of license plates by the Kosovo government, a decision that was opposed by Serbs, who these days have provoked tensions at the border.
