EU to resume Kosovo-Serbia dialogue negotiations in March

The European Union will resume negotiations to restart the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue in March, the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, has announced. During a statement to journalists, Kallas stressed that she will work with the new EU special envoy, Peter Sorensen, to make this dialogue functional.

"What is clear is that normalization of relations is necessary for both countries. And if they think they can move forward on the European path, then this process is necessary," Kallas said. She also mentioned that she was in continuous talks with the Serbian foreign minister, who expressed a willingness to invest time in the normalization process.

The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia has been under EU mediation since 2011 and has been conducted mainly at a high level between the leaders of the two countries and chief negotiators. In 2023, Kosovo and Serbia reached an agreement to normalize relations.
