KFOR has increased forces in south Mitrovica, security experts say

KFOR has increased the number of its forces south of Mitrovica, while the NATO Parliamentary Assembly has warned of numerous dangers in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Drizan Shala, a security expert, said that NATO as a political and military mechanism has forced the increase in KFOR troops, Klankosova.tv reports.

"The current KFOR Commander has stated that, depending on developments and analyses from the field, there may be an increase in the number of troops, and according to plans, a greater presence of KFOR troops in the territory of Kosovo is expected by 2025, in order to minimize possible risks."

"KFOR will not allow any chance and will intensify activities to maintain the country's security, but this can also be seen as a weakening of Kosovo's sovereignty," Shala said.

Meanwhile, Adnan Zujeva, a security expert, considers this increase in troops as a sign of the weakening of Kosovo's sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing that the presence of KFOR troops harms this sovereignty.

"In northern Kosovo, there is a large presence of NATO troops, including American, Turkish and Polish ones, while it has been announced that Slovak troops will also arrive in a month."

"This shows that the situation in this part of Kosovo remains fragile," Zujeva said on the "Ora 7" show on Klan Kosova.

At the same time, Visar Reça, a security expert, added that the NATO Parliamentary Assembly has more detailed information about the situation in Kosovo and the region and that this recommendation for the increase in troops is intended to avoid surprises for the NATO organization in the event of any possible scenario./Klankosova.tv.
