Folk music icon Ismet Peja passes away at the age of 83.
The sad news was announced by his son, Visar Peja, who through a dedication on social networks wrote: “ I did not know otherwise, nor could I otherwise announce your departure from this life. Rest in peace that with us you have remained eternal. Greetings to my mother. "
Ismet Peja was born on April 27, 1937 in Gjakova. From a young age, he started playing music at the age of 13. His father, Musa Peja, was also a singer of Albanian melody. Peja passed away in the early hours of this Monday morning.
During his career he brought a series of projects such as "Knoma kangen as long as I live", "Robi grows old when he wants" and not only. Known mainly for old civic songs, Ismet Peja has been and will remain the pearl of Albanian music.
