By Dom Marjan Lumçi

Today is a special day for our Catholic Church in Albania, ASHT

THE DAY OF THE RIVERS OF OUR MARTYRS, who shed their blood for religion

and the homeland, leaving us as AMANET THE LOVE FOR GOD AND FOR

THE NATION.

The most prominent elite of Albanian Catholicism was exterminated. The balance is

tragic: 5 bishops, 60 diocesan priests, 30 regulars were killed

Franciscans, 23 Jesuits, ten seminarians and eight regular sisters, pa

numerous lay accounts containing an endless list.

In our small Albania, that massacre was consumed as it will be

said Sami Repishti: "For Albanian Catholics, it doesn't make sense

this tragedy is true and complete in that it is not publicly affirmed and not

it is accepted with a sense of guilt, how 140 priests were killed unjustly

they had completed 450 years of studies in 24 European universities and would do so

unfortunately another 881 years, i.e. almost 9 centuries of imprisonment in their land.

Sami Repishti continues, saying that: "torture and unjust killing."

it gets its full meaning if you also remember what happened in Pandi's prison

Kristos, (one of the criminals of the communist regime after it had ended

to yourself in prison, because that's what dictators always do, when you run out

the meat of the so-called traitors, traitors begin to find friends

of collaborators): Pandi Kristo used to say: "THOSE HAIRS

WE KILLED THE DOGS INNOCENTLY JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE DOGS

CATHOLIC. YES, THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMPLAIN". E

of course, it wasn't about Lleshra e Prengra anyway, but about men

intellectuals and patriots like Llesh Marashi and Preng Cali, who did so much for

freedom and independence of Albania.

Let's honor their memory today with a prayer, without forgetting that the honor is mine

It's great to know that we resembled each other in our daily lives.
