Ellie Goulding has reacted for the first time to rumors that she cheated on Ed Sheeran with former One Direction member Niall Horan years ago. Goulding addressed the rumors when a TikTok user commented on her video of Ellie dancing to Harry Styles' As It Was. 

"I can't believe you cheated on Ed with Niall, but great," wrote the commenter below Goulding's video. But the "Lights" singer quickly denied the accusation, replying, "False! But, great. " 

Goulding, 36, and Sheeran, 31, first sparked dating rumors when they were spotted holding hands while sitting in the audience together at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. While Goulding denied they were a couple, Sheeran reportedly had hinted that they were dating in an interview that year before admitting that things ended as quickly as they began. But long-running speculation that Goulding cheated on the Shape of You singer began when he dropped his 2014 hit single Don't. His texts seemed to imply that he had been cheated on, and many fans jumped to the conclusion that Goulding was the cheater in question. 

An English publication claimed the lyrics were about Goulding cheating on Sheeran with Horan. Goulding and Horan, now 29, reportedly flirted that year and sparked dating rumors when they were spotted at V Festival. But Goulding has finally put the stamp on the years-old story thanks to her direct response on TikTok.
