Grammy Awards 2023: Beyoncé makes history and Harry Styles wins album of the year
Beyoncé won a record 32 Grammy Awards, while Harry Styles won album of the year, at this year's ceremony in Los Angeles.
Her song "Break my soul" was awarded as the best song in the dance/electronic category, "Cuff It" as the best R&B song, while "Plastif off the sofa" as the best R&B performance. Her album "Renaissance" won the "Best Dance/Electronic Album" award.
Thus, she overtook Hungarian-British conductor George Solti, whose record of 31 Grammy awards had stood for more than 20 years.
"I'm trying not to be too emotional ," said the star accepting her award.
She went on to thank family, including her late uncle Jonny, who helped create her stage outfits before she became famous.
Beyoncé has previously said that her battle with HIV influenced her interest in dance music and her historical ties to the LGBTQ community.
