Pope Francis goes viral on social networks because of his different style

Recently, some photos of Pope Francis have circulated on social platforms and immediately became viral. Apparently the images where the Pope appears in a giant white coat are fake. The images were created using Midjourney, an artificial intelligence tool that can produce fake images that look remarkably real. They were then shared on Reddit before being shared on Twitter.

The fake image fooled many, including far-right influencer Ian Miles Cheong, who tweeted: "The Pope is a fashion icon . " “What would be the name of Pope Francis' lifestyle brand?” tweeted Don Moynihan, a professor at Georgetown.

Recently, Midjourney has also been used to create several photos of former President Donald Trump's arrest. Many believed they were real, but the images were edited and Trump was not arrested. The edited images show what appears to be New York Police Department officers restraining Trump as he resists, and one image even depicts Trump running away from the officers.
