Tom Holland announces he is taking a break from acting: The last filming

Tom Holland has revealed he will be taking a long break from acting after his latest role 'destroyed' him.

The British actor is starring in AppleTV's new miniseries, 'The Crowded Room,' which will be released on the streaming service later this week. Playing the lead role in the dark psychological thriller, as well as producing it, was difficult, Tom admits.

And after two very busy years, including roles in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' and 'Uncharted', the 27-year-old is ready to retire from the limelight. In an interview with 'ExtraTV', Tom said that after working on 'The Crowded Room' he will now take a year off and this comes as a result of the difficulty he has encountered on the set.

He added: "I'm excited to see how it turns out and feel like our hard work wasn't in vain."

Tom plays Danny Sullivan, a young man who is arrested on suspicion of committing a bone-chilling crime and slowly uncovers details about his fragile psyche during interviews with an investigator, played by Amanda Seyfried.

" It was a tough time for sure," Tom recalled of his time on set. “We were exploring certain emotions that I've definitely never experienced before, and then being a producer, dealing with the day-to-day issues that come with any film set, it just added to the pressure. But I really enjoyed it, I enjoyed the learning curve of becoming a producer. I am no stranger to difficulties at work, I have always lived with the idea that hard work is good work. And I liked it a lot. But still, it 'destroyed' me. There came a point where I think I should take a break."

The actor, who is in a relationship with Zendaya, took a week off after finishing the project in Mexico, but now wants a longer time away from his work.
