Mental health treatments are only 7% effective

Mental health treatments worldwide are effective in only 7% of cases.

The dramatic results have been published in the scientific journal Jama Psychiatry, and the studies are based on data from over 57,000 people in 21 countries around the world, over a period of 19 years, from Harvard Medical School and the University of British Columbia.

The team analyzed the 4 main phases of treatments for people who need mental health help, mainly those patients who have anxiety, mood disorders, substance abuse, and various addictions.

Problems have been observed since phase one, raising awareness of the person and seeking help from a health facility.

While the situation seems to worsen until the final stage when treatments begin, and the minority that reaches the end of the journey, it turns out that in only 6.9% of cases the treatment is effective and successful for the patient.
