The first country in the EU, Denmark removes all restrictions under Covid-19

Denmark today lifted all remaining restrictions under the coronavirus, becoming the first country in the EU to fully return to pre-pandemic daily life.

"Vaccines and the great efforts of all Danish citizens over such a long period are the foundation why we are going strong," said Health Minister Magnus Heunicke.

Danish health authorities approved the measure in late August, after declaring that the virus "is no longer a critical threat to society" due to high vaccination levels and a low incidence of serious illness and death, foreign media reported.

Vaccination certificates will no longer be required to enter restaurants, sports centers or nightclubs, and children will not be sent home if they come in close contact with a COVID-19 confirmed case. Only those infected should be quarantined. People can go back to the office as usual, and schools are open.
