Slovakian Prime Minister Calls for Kaja Kallas' Resignation from EU Post

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has stated that Kaja Kallas should resign from the post of European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs, assessing that her leadership is harming the EU's ability to face current challenges.

In an interview, Fico stated that "the EU needs a change in leadership," as according to him, Kallas's positions and actions have prevented the creation of a clear and coherent position of the union in international affairs.

"The European Union is facing an unprecedented crisis. Only countries that are economically, militarily and in the energy sector will survive," declared the Slovak Prime Minister.

He added that the global order created after World War II has changed significantly, especially after the US military intervention in Venezuela, and that the EU has not yet provided a clear response to these developments.

However, Fico stressed that the European Union remains Slovakia's "living space" and that his country continues to be committed to the European project.

He also announced that during an upcoming visit to the United States he will discuss Slovak-American cooperation with President Donald Trump, with a particular focus on EU-related issues.
