Meteorology warns of scorching August, temperatures could reach up to 40°C

After several days of cooler weather and rainfall, the country is expected to face high temperatures again.

Meteorologist Rezarta Xhakollari, a guest on the "Now" show, said that long-term forecasts indicate that August will be very hot, with temperatures that could reach up to 40 degrees Celsius, especially during the first 10 days.

The drop in temperatures over the weekend was only a temporary break in the heat wave. The values recorded during these days are considered normal for the season, but according to forecasts, they will not last.

The month of August is expected to be dominated by clear weather and temperatures above the seasonal average, returning extreme heat conditions to most of the country. The hottest days are expected at the beginning of the month, when the thermometer could reach 40°C in some areas.

Due to high temperatures, it is recommended to avoid exposure to the sun during midday hours, consume as much fluids as possible, and take extra care for the most vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, children, and people with chronic diseases.
