Rita Ora tells her family story: I am proud to be an immigrant

Albanian singer Rita Ora has spoken about her Kosovar roots and her family's journey from emigration to success in the United Kingdom.

In an interview with the British newspaper "The Times", the artist recalled the period when her parents left Kosovo in the early 1990s, starting a new life away from their homeland at a difficult time for Kosovo Albanians.

Born in Pristina, Rita moved to Britain with her family, where her parents, Vera and Besnik Ora, faced the challenges of emigration. Despite their professional training in Kosovo, her mother as a doctor and her father as an economist, the start of their new life was not easy.

"All I know is that I will always be grateful for the education I received and proud to be an immigrant," the singer said.

Rita Ora said her family's experience has made her appreciate the sacrifices of immigrants more, noting that many of them have a special drive to prove themselves.

"I think a lot of immigrants have a special energy. Maybe they have a sense of having to prove themselves, which drives them to constantly improve," she said.
