Austrian newspaper accuses Meta: Lobbying $ 700 thousand with

The Austrian newspaper 'Kronen Zeitung' has written an article where it casts doubt that President Ilir Meta is involved in a lobbying of 700 thousand dollars, with the aim of his visit to the USA at the inauguration of former President Donald Trump in front of the Capitol.

'Kronen' writes that the denunciation was made by an informant who hid in Austria "because of the accusations and the fear of an assassination. "The evidence could shake Albania's political landscape and bring down anyone but the president."

The article says that Ilir Meta since the time he became President of the Republic of Albania "came cash flows that the main witness described as deeply corrupt."

"On January 20, 2017, Meta shared a photo of himself and a party colleague at the inauguration of Donald Trump in front of the Capitol in Washington. To gain access to the inauguration and Republican officials, they reportedly lobbied diligently through a Cypriot shell company. Cost: $ 700,000. To this day, it is unclear who actually paid for it. Meta himself claims to have been invited by the Republicans. "According to US court documents, 700,000 of a lawyer close to Meta went through the offshore company Dorelita Limited," the article reads.

The complainant in question, who mentions 'Kronen', has stated that a contract has been signed between the SMI parties and the lawyer that provides for participation in the inauguration. According to the Austrian newspaper, part of the benefit from lobbying is suspected to be the chairwoman of the SMI, Monika Kryemadhi, whom Kronen assumes that the President's wife did with the lobbying money

"50 thousand euros per month for meetings with US senators, dinner, travel and apparently aesthetic surgeries for Meta's wife, Monika Kryemadhi, who took over the leadership of the SMI from her husband," reads the article in 'Kronen '.

Following the news published by the Austrian media, the spokesman of the Presidency, Tedi Blushi, also reacted. In a Facebook post, Blushi writes that the statements made in the article are nothing but slander and fabricated and consumed for years.

The President's spokesman has announced that a lawsuit will be prepared for "Defamation" and "Violation of public image".

"These slanders, sadly fabricated and thrown on the media market some time ago, have received a very clear and destructive answer, since April 2018.

Even this next attempt, ridiculously and vulgarly refurbished, will receive an answer before Austrian justice.

The President of the Republic has authorized the staff and legal defenders to immediately prepare the lawsuit "For the dissemination of untrue data", "Defamation", "Violation of public image", which in this case seriously violates the high state interests.

"In this way, the slanderers will get the deserved answer before justice", writes Blushi.
