Anti-drug operation in Catalonia, Albanians arrested and marijuana seized

In several areas of Catalonia, the police have carried out a large-scale operation against marijuana trafficking, with the aim of dismantling an Albanian criminal organization involved in this illegal activity. The investigation, led by the Investigation Unit of the Anoia Police Commissariat, has erupted into a series of coordinated raids in several cities and municipalities of Catalonia, including Artés (Bages), Pallejà (Baix Llobregat), L'Arboç (Baix Penedès), Pinedes d'Armengol (Anoia), Sitges (Garraf) and Barcelona, where one of the organization's main leaders is located.

The operation, supported by the Regional Operational Resource Area (ARRO) and the Drone Unit (UDRON) of the Mossos d'Esquadra, resulted in five arrests, all of Albanian nationality, and led to the seizure of a significant quantity of marijuana. Meanwhile, a full count of the materials confiscated during the raid has not yet been made.

The operation aims to crack down on criminal networks involved in drug trafficking and combat the involvement of criminal groups in the territory of Catalonia, where violent incidents have exploded in number due to the creation of the mafia. This is another step in the ongoing fight of the Catalan police to curb the activities of these groups and ensure order and security in the region.
