Brother and sister collided to death in Croatia, the verdict is given for

Klevisa Ymeri, who caused the accident in Croatia where brother and sister Stjepan and Katarina Derek lost their lives, has been sentenced to 4 years in prison.

According to the Croatian media, in today's trial, the witness Jonuz Alija, Ymer's passenger, also testified today in the trial.

"My friend Armalindo Docano and I left Milan for Albania in a Mercedes. With us was Klevisa and Armalindo's cousin's wife, Diana.

These two were following us after the "BMW". Klevisa took over the driving of the Mercedes because the driver got tired. We were walking behind each other, I was talking to my family on the cell phone, when at some point, reflexively, I felt that the car went by very fast, and then I looked up and saw smoke.

When I got to the first car, I administered first aid, but soon realized that nothing more could be done. Klevisa got out of the car and fell unconscious as a result of the collision," said the witness.

The Albanian's lawyer emphasized that the expert who was at the scene pointed out that Ymer had tried not to overtake when he realized that another vehicle was coming in front of him, but he had lost control of the vehicle.

On the other hand, Ymeri herself stated that she signaled for her to overtake, but according to her, everything happened very quickly until the moment of the collision.

“We were traveling at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour and when I saw that a Mercedes had overtaken a vehicle in front of me, I signaled to overtake and then I saw another vehicle coming from the opposite direction at high speed.

I tried not to overtake, but everything happened quickly and there was a crash," she said, then added that she did not remember anything else because of the shock she had suffered.
