The Government of Kosovo on Saturday, August 28, has tightened measures against coronavirus, after saying that the epidemiological situation in the country has worsened.

The measures are expected to take effect on Sunday, following the publication of the decision.

The government decided that the new school year should start on September 13th. According to the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, this age group has recently become a distributor of the virus.

"The situation represents an enormous increase in cases of COVID-19 infection , " said Vitia.

The new measures include restricting the movement of citizens from 22:00 to 05:00.

The schedule of the gastronomy sector has been reduced by one hour and this sector will now be able to work until 21:30 and will only be allowed to work outdoors.

Public and private institutions are obliged to work only with essential staff until September 13. After this date, public sector workers must prove their vaccination certificate or relevant tests to be allowed to enter the workplace.

"This measure will gradually include other spheres of economic and social life," said Vitia.

Also, all persons who will enter Kosovo, regardless of nationality, must provide evidence of vaccination or PCR and antigen tests or otherwise must be isolated for seven days./REL
