After months of speculation about the couple's relationship status, British actor Joe Alwyn has finally addressed the engagement rumors with Taylor Swift in a new interview for 'WSJ Magazine'. The British actor, 31, declined to confirm or deny rumors that he and his girlfriend Taylor are engaged.

"If I had one pound every time I think I was told I was engaged, then I would have a lot of pounds, " he told the publication.

"I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I would not say, and if the answer was no, I would not say."

Rumors have been circulating on the Internet for years that the couple were either engaged or even secretly crowned. In January 2020, Swift wore a diamond ring on her left hand in her Netflix documentary, "Miss Americana," which sparked rumors. And that December, fans were convinced that the couple were already tied after the singer wore a wedding dress in her "Willow" music video.

However, Alwyn and Swift have remained extremely private throughout their relationship.

"We live in a culture where people expect so much to be given," the Favor actor told the WSJ.

"So if you are not posting all the time about what you are doing, how you are spending a day or how you have prepared a breakfast, does that make you a loner?" Said the actor.
