The past few months have been particularly turbulent and Tesla shares have suffered with shareholders worried by the specter of a further sale of shares in the electric car giant by Musk to cover the expenses and costs of the acquisition of the social company.

Despite the fears, Tesla ended the fourth quarter with a 59% profit jump to $3.7 billion and revenue rose 37% to $24.3 billion.
