DP leader Sali Berisha has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of attempting to pass the cooperation agreement with the US in the field of defense through a procedure that, according to him, is unconstitutional.

 In a statement to journalists outside the Parliament, the DP leader described the act as a shameful act of the majority, while also raising questions about the government's policies towards NATO. He said that the Alliance flag has been removed from institutions and that Albania currently spends only 1.3% of its budget on NATO.

Berisha : What is happening today in parliament, this is another shameful act of Edi Rama, who wants to pass a US government loan for defense purposes, for which the DP is grateful, at all costs through an unconstitutional procedure.
There is a constitutional provision that does not allow voting through an accelerated procedure without a minimum one-week deadline.
There is a decision of the Constitutional Court three months ago that considers voting for the Peace Board or for another issue unconstitutional.
But Edi Rama wants at all costs to show that the Constitution is a dead letter for him, and that this is a ruler who has no law or morality.
Today I ask a question to both his Pelesh and Rama: Why, in a first act, did you disappear from all the institutions of the country, from the parliament, from the government, the NATO flag.
Albania is a NATO member country and if there is another flag that it should display, it is the NATO flag, which was in all institutions.
In a first act, in one of the first orders, he ordered the removal of the NATO flag from all institutions.
Edi Rama is the only person in former communist Europe who has organized wild protests against Albania's membership in NATO.
And now, totally unbalanced, he seeks to violate the Constitution and present himself as a standard-bearer for filling the budget for NATO.
The truth is that the budget for NATO today is 1.3 percent.
