Statement of Bora Muzhaqi, Ibrahimaj: Ministers have no obligation to drive

The Minister of State for Children and Youth, Bora Muzhaqi, in a statement stated that she as a minister is obliged to come by car, while the citizens move on foot.

Invited to the studio of "Opinion", the Minister of Finance Delina Ibrahimaj denied that the ministers have an obligation to drive. She added that the expenses of public officials have been reduced by 50%, which means that half of every minister or administration official will pay out of pocket.

"Ministers are not obliged to drive and we have reduced by 50%, fuel costs for ministers. We reviewed the budget and capital expenditures by ALL 7 billion, with the first review we did. We also reviewed operating costs, so we reduced fuel consumption. For that part of the administration that uses the car, but that is in the office, we have halved it, while for that part of the administration that uses it for the purpose of working in the field, we have reduced it by 10% ", said Ibrahimaj.

Minister Muzhaqi's statement came after protests had started in every city of the country to reduce the price of oil and basket products. It was initially Minister Belinda Balluku who stated that citizens should save and move on foot.
