Media co-organizes Security Forum in the US Congress: Albania is led by Putinism

The Chairman of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, co-organized with US Congressmen Pete Sessions and Robert Aderholt the Security Forum "Malignant Actions of China, Russia and Iran in Europe", which took place at the US Congress in Washington, DC.

The forum conveyed the message of solidarity among democratic countries and the need for cooperation with President Trump's new administration in the face of regimes like Russia, China, and Iran.

One of the main concerns that Mediu raised specifically for Albania and several Balkan countries was the phenomenon of Putinism of the ruling party.

"While we are talking about threats from China, Russia, Iran, we are facing a danger where authoritarianism and Putinism are clearly visible in Albania and in our countries in the Balkans. We have a problem with disrespect for the constitution and law, organized crime and corruption, the lack of free and fair elections, the use of the judiciary as a political weapon against the opposition. Albania is a NATO member country and this is unacceptable ," Mediu said.
