Opposition protest, DP: Drug police issued arrest warrants for activists, minors are also detained

The Democratic Party has reacted after the arrest and prosecution of several citizens who participated in the DP protest yesterday.

The Secretary of Legal and Electoral Affairs in the DP, Ivi Kaso, said in a statement to the media that 'the narco-state, in panic after the opposition protest, issued arrest warrants for activists, and even minors were detained.

Full statement:

The massive participation of citizens in Saturday's protest has further increased the panic of Edi Rama and his colleagues in the government and police about the defeat that awaits them in the May 11 elections.

The drug police, on orders from the drug regime, arrested dozens of young activists from the Democratic Party and the opposition today and last night, immediately after protests.

Tirana's police stations are filled with young people and teenagers.

Engjëll Tafasi, the young man arrested last night, and others detained today, including the minor Amarildo Tuga, are proof that the Hoxha of the new dictatorship understands order and security as confrontation and elimination of the opposition and the right to assemble.

The goal is one: to scare the opposition after the panic over the grand protest that announced last night the victory of the Democratic Party on May 11. But history has shown that the Democrats have not scared the criminals of the dictatorship, much less will they scare their photocopies.

The Democratic Party calls on the nephew of the ousted dictator and servant of the narco-state to curb the use of the police against the opposition and use them against crime.

Fighting the opposition and collaborating with criminal organizations is a crime that will not be forgotten and will be punished.

The persecution of opposition activists, while political persecution and imprisonment of its senior exponents continue, does not frighten the opposition spirit nor does it reverse the momentum of the May 11 victory.

Those who issue arrest warrants and those who diligently implement them will be held accountable after May 11th.

We inform those arrested, detained, their families, and all democrats that they are not alone. Each of them will have legal and political protection from the opposition.

The Democratic Party is clear:

The program of violence is giving way to the program of change!
