A criminal group known as "Mantaqa" has been identified by the police for their activity in transporting narcotics.

Foreign media suggest that the group in question has sent by mail from Albania to Finland, only in the period January-February 70 kilograms of marijuana, worth about 700 thousand euros.

Police said they suspect the group, made up mainly of Finnish individuals, bought marijuana from Albania and mailed it to Finland via Spain. Police have so far seized about 13 kilograms of smuggled narcotics.

Investigators said an Albanian took the marijuana packages from the post office using a false identity. This suspect was held in custody after being caught by police in an apartment in Tikkurila rented by one of the main suspects.

After the drugs were in Finland, the suspects packed the narcotics in vacuum-sealed bags at an industrial facility in Nurmijärvi. From there, the bags ended up on the streets of Helsinki, Vantaa and Kerava.

The four main suspects were born in 1993, 1995, 1996 and 1997. Five other people are suspected of serious narcotics offenses in connection with the case.
