Egla Ceno is sentenced for defamation against moderator Saimir Kodra

The Criminal Court of Tirana has sentenced actress Egla Ceno, who was accused of the criminal offense of "Defamation" by the moderator of the "Stop" show, Saimir Kodra, to 1 million old lek.

The decision was given at noon today, where Saimir Kodra emerged the winner in this legal battle. During a television show on "PodCast", Egla Ceno, former winner of "Big Bradhor VIP", stated that on a single occasion she was sexually harassed by the moderator of a television show.

After Egla's statement, moderator Saimir Kodra also reacted, announcing that he would go to court to protect his reputation.

He filed a request with the Tirana Court of General Jurisdiction, requesting a guilty verdict.

In the subsequent court proceedings, Egla brought several versions of defense.

Initially, she stated that she was afraid to appear in court. Later, in another statement, she said that she had not mentioned Saimir Kodra, justifying herself by saying only the surname "Kodra", without mentioning his name.

In a later hearing, she changed her stance again, claiming that her statements were not about Saimir Kodra personally, but about a symbolic cause for sexually abused women.

At the end of the trial, Egla Ceno was found guilty and sentenced by court decision to a fine of 1 million lek, as her statements were considered defamatory and unfairly damaging the reputation of moderator Saimir Kodra./ By Elton Qyno
