Eurostat: About 80% of Albanians without higher education, we rank at the bottom

According to the figures of the 'European Statistics Agency', Albania ranks among the last countries in Europe in terms of the rate of persons with higher education. On average, in our country, about 20% of the population over 25 years of age have higher education, while 80% have primary or secondary education.

Referring to the data of the 'European Statistics Agency', Albania ranks among the last countries in Europe in terms of the rate of persons with higher education.

"Scan Intel" has analyzed the Eurostat figures crossed with the figures of the "Institute of Statistics" regarding the rate of the population over 25 years of age with higher education, according to gender and European Union countries.

From a general overview of the data, it can be observed that in almost all European countries, the rate of women with higher education is greater than the rate of men who possess a higher education diploma.

If we refer to the figures for our country, we see that 21% of women over 25 years old have higher education compared to men with a rate of 18.3%. So, according to INSTAT, the percentage of women with higher education in 2022 was greater than that of men.

But how does this indicator for Albania compare with the average of the European Union?

Shqipëria renditet në vend të fundit më normën më të ulë të të femrave të cilat kanë një diplomë të arsimit të lartë. Janë 37.1% të femrave në BE të cilat kanë arsim të lartë sipas shifrave për vitin e kaluar, pra rreth 15.7 pikë përqindje më shumë se në Shqipëri. Irlanda, Suedia dhe Lituania janë tre vendet me normën më të lartë të femrave me diplomë në Europë. Përkatësisht normat për këto tre vende janë 57.2%. 56.3% dhe 54.1%.

Por si paraqitet kjo normë për meshkujt? Të dhënat tregojnë se Shqipëria renditet e treta nga fundi sa i përket meshkujve të cilët zotërojnë një diplomë të arsimit të lartë. Me një normë në 18.3% Shqipëria ka lënë pas Rumaninë dhe Italinë me 17.8% dhe 17.1% të meshkujve mbi 25 vjeç me arsim të lartë. Udhëheqin renditjen me përqindjen më të madhe Luksemburgu dhe Irlanda me 51% dhe 49.6%.
