A recent report published by the organization 'Global Petrol Prices' highlights the significant increase in fuel prices for many countries, including Albania.

According to data for March 2026, Albania ranks among the countries with the highest gasoline prices in the world, with an average of $2,390 per liter.

This level puts the country in the same group as developed European economies such as Germany and Switzerland, where average incomes are much higher.
At the top of the list is Hong Kong, where the price of gasoline reaches over $4.06 per liter, followed by Malawi and Norway. The list also includes countries such as Denmark, the Netherlands and Singapore.
