Former Deputy Minister of Finance: 90% of dirty money goes into construction

Former Deputy Minister of Finance, Sherefedin Shehu, has stated that 90% of dirty money goes into construction, which is confirmed in many documents and analyses.

Invited to "Log" on News24, Shehu said that we have an economy that is on a downward trend, especially with the lack of key sectors of the economy and this means that the economy is dominated by the informal sector.

"We are in a situation where we are looking at the towers. There are statistics and historical analyses, especially from the history of the mafia, that 90% of dirty money goes into construction. This is confirmed in many documents and analyses. We have construction as a contributor to GDP, we have a decline in industry and agriculture, where the key to development is manufacturing or economic models.

"Next, we have a gloomy forecast for the economy. The IMF in its April forecasts says that there will be growth of 3.5%, while the goal in poor countries is to go around 7%, to affect the well-being of citizens. So, we have an economy that is going in a downward trend, especially with the lack of key sectors of the economy. This means that the economy is dominated by the informal part that has affected a sector, which gives a 'one time' effect (immediately), but then the house does not provide bread to eat ," said Shehu.
