An Albanian citizen has been arrested by Montenegrin police at the Sukobin (Muriqan) border crossing, based on an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol in Brussels.

The arrested person is 34-year-old AC, from Tirana, who was detained by officers of the Border Police Sector of Montenegro. According to the announcement of the Montenegrin Police Directorate, he was wanted by Belgian authorities.

The Court of First Instance in Antwerp had issued an arrest warrant against him on charges of membership in a criminal organization, violation of drug laws, and participation in drug trafficking as an accomplice, according to the Criminal Code of the Kingdom of Belgium.

It is now expected that Montenegrin authorities will take further steps to extradite him to Belgium, where he will face justice.
