Bad weather in the country, MIE: Operations continue to normalize the situation

Albania has been affected by bad weather since yesterday morning, where the heavy rains have brought flooding in the western lowlands and lack of energy in the rest of the country.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy announces that as a result, several problems have been registered in different areas of the country.

According to MIE, work groups throughout the territory have been on alert and are continuing operations until the normalization of the situation.

Work is underway to remove the water from the road.

In the northern region, stones and inerts fell on the axes Dushaj-Sheshi i Trageteve-Lekbibaj, Burrel-Klos, Lezhë-Vau Dejës, Bogë-Theth. The cleaning was done immediately and traffic is continuing normally.

In the area of Vlora, due to the high presence of water, OSSH has shut down the substation that supplies electricity to a significant part of the city.

DSO has taken measures to ensure that facilities of special importance are supplied normally. The work groups are on the ground to repair the faults and restore the operation of the electrical network. Currently, across the country, there are 13 out of order fidras.

Throughout the country, the water supply situation, as well as the wastewater treatment plants, are in optimal conditions.

In the time interval 12:00 - 15:00, some flights that were to land at Tirana International Airport (TIA) have been diverted to the airports of neighboring countries. Currently, operations at TIA continue as normal.
