The former Apostolic Nuncio to Albania, Luigi Bonazzi, passed away today.
The Metropolitan Archdiocese of Shkodër-Pult announced the news in a post on social media, but did not disclose the cause of death.
"With deep sorrow we received the news of the eternal passing of Monsignor Luigi Bonazzi, former Apostolic Nuncio to Albania, a wise shepherd and tireless servant of the Holy See.
"With extraordinary dedication, he served with love in our country, strengthening the Church's relations with the Albanian people and leaving a living testimony of the presence of Christ's love," the post reads.
