The prosecution team has 72 more witnesses to conclude the case of four former leaders of the Liberation Army accused of complicity in war crimes.

However, the Office of the Prosecutor of the Specialist Chambers is expected to decide in March whether to call additional witnesses in the case of former senior leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selim and Jakup Krasniqi.

For the remaining 72 witnesses, Specialist Chambers spokesperson Angela Grip told Radio Kosova that future status conferences will decide how much evidence will be admitted in writing and how many witnesses should appear in court, while the victims' lawyer will also present their cases.

"The specialist prosecutor, of course, can also decide to drop additional evidence. First, and most importantly, the defense teams will be asked if they want to file a request to drop some or all of the charges ," Griep said.

The Office of the Prosecutor of the Specialist Chambers in The Hague had presented a list of prosecution witnesses with 323 witnesses, of whom 110 have so far testified in the courtroom or have been available for questioning.
