The first Albanian super car is expected to be launched soon

Arrera Automobili, owned by the Albanian car designer Qendrim Thaqi, plans to put into production the 840 hp super car, called "Illyrian Pure Sport". This announcement was made by the company itself on December 31st.

'Illyrian Pure Sport' aims to be the first Albanian super car.

"' Pure Sport' was designed by the same person who designed" Porche 9RE. "Now, through his company Arrera Automobili, Thaqi wants to make Pure Sport the first Albanian super car," Arrera Automobili said in a Facebook post.

28-year-old Thaqi was born in Kosovo and now lives in Germany. He has worked on performance before and devised his idea for a successor to the Porsche 918 Spyder.

In an interview with the automotive portal 'Motor1', Thaqi revealed that he has already assembled a team of engineers and designers.

The new 'Illyrian Pure Sport' supercar will be powered by a 6.2-liter twin-turbocharged LT2 V8, with 840 horsepower, the company said.

Top speed is expected to reach 375 kilometers per hour and acceleration is expected to take only 2.7 seconds.

Arrera Automobile follows another startup from the region, Croatia's Rimac Automobile, a hyper-electric carmaker that has caught the attention of luxury sports car makers seeking to adapt to the industry's electric future.
