Will he return the ambassador to Skopje? Bulgaria publishes its condition
"Bulgarian ambassador to RMV, Angel Angelov, can return to Skopje when the right conditions for this are created." This is what the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Nikolaj Milkov, said today, speaking about the recent events between Skopje and Sofia.
"If a high-level dialogue begins, in which he must also participate, the ambassador can return at any moment," said Milkov at the press conference.
Commenting on the statement of the head of diplomacy of the Romanian Foreign Ministry, Bujar Osmani, that the decision to invite Ambassador Angelov to consultations in Sofia was an unfounded, unsubstantiated and disproportionate action, Milkov emphasized that such a procedure reflects Bulgaria's conviction that the situation has gone too far and that "such a measure is necessary".
"If the Republic of North Macedonia considers that the summoning of Bulgaria's extraordinary and full-power ambassador to North Macedonia, Angel Angelov, is disproportionate, they probably do not understand the seriousness of the situation," said Milkov. According to him, at this moment it is necessary for Ambassador Angelov to be in Sofia "to clarify a number of approaches" regarding the Bulgarian policy towards the RMV.
