The new Prime Minister of Montenegro / Who is Milojko Spajic, the 36-year-old

After a discussion that lasted throughout the night, the members of the Assembly of Montenegro voted for the 44th government.

The new Prime Minister will be Milojko Spajic, for the election of which government 46 MPs voted, 19 against and one abstained.

Who is Milojko Spajic?

Spajic, along with Jakov Milatović, is a politician who has seen a huge rise in popularity in Montenegro in recent years and months. He became known to the general public as a minister in the government of Zdravko Krivokapič, after which he formed the Europe Now Movement with his colleague Milatović.

He was born on September 24, 1987 in Pljevlja. He graduated from high school as one of the best students and continued his education at Osaka University in Japan, where he studied ecometry in the Japanese language as a Japanese Government scholar. He received his master's degree, also as a researcher, in France at the HEC Paris business school.

After graduation, he worked in the United States on Wall Street, in Paris and Tokyo. Before entering politics, Spajiq also worked for "Goldman Sachs", a global banking group that deals with investment banking, securities trading and other financial services, mainly with institutional clients.

The Europe Now movement was declared the winner of the early elections in Montenegro, with 25.5% of the votes won. Milojko Spajic is expected to be the new prime minister of the country, who will replace Dritan Abazovic, until now the technical prime minister.

As for the Albanian parties, Nika Gjeloshaj is the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Economic Development, Fatmir Gjeka is the Minister for Human Rights and Minorities and Marash Dukaj is the Minister of Public Administration.
