The attack in the North of Kosovo, Rama 'reminds' of a new dialogue format: The existing one has failed
Prime Minister Edi Rama has described yesterday's evening's explosion in the Ibër Lepenci canal in Zubin Potok, North of Kosovo, as a criminal strike.
In a post on X, he writes that the European Union should immediately remove the remaining sanctions against Kosovo and re-engage in a new dialogue format for normalization between Kosovo and Serbia.
He points out that the existing dialogue format has failed to produce the desired results between the two countries.
"The act of sabotage on the critical water supply infrastructure in the Ibër Lepenci canal is a serious crime, which harms the lives of the citizens of Kosovo and affects the process of normalization of relations in our region, where all countries are involved in the road of integration in the European Union.
This criminal attack must be brought to light and punished as soon as possible with the support of international partners. Meanwhile, the European Union should immediately remove the remaining sanctions against Kosovo and re-engage in a new dialogue format for normalization between Kosovo and Serbia.
The existing format has failed to produce the desired results and it is time for the issues of dialogue to go through the EU's bilateral relations with Kosovo or Serbia, as two equally independent states, where the European destiny of each state cannot to depend on the wishes or dislikes of the other state; just as the European fate of the entire region cannot depend on the non-recognition of Kosovo by Serbia or 5 EU member states ", writes Rama in "X".
