The Vice-President of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, reacted to yesterday's vote in the Assembly of the majority against sending the case for the mandate of Olta Xhacka to the Constitutional Court.

In a post on Facebook, Bardhi writes that yesterday's decision of the Assembly that grants the status of "untouchable by justice" to the strategic investor Olta Xhacka, is the most unprecedented act that happened in 33 years.

This is neither a legal state nor a democratic state. This is the most concrete blow to the Justice Reform and the new institutions that emerged from it. Edi Rama came out yesterday revealed in front of every citizen as a powerful man who is above the law and who treats anyone he wants as above the law.
If the opposition and citizens lose the opportunity to correct the illegality through the institutions, the only mechanism that maintains the balance in a democratic society is undone. The will of Edi Rama can never be the Constitution of the Republic of Albania. He is only the reverse will that in 11 years has harmed the public interest at the expense of his close collaborators, who are getting rich and robbing public property and money every day.
Political protection against an official of the majority that is required by justice is a message that Edi Rama has repeated every time his interest has been endangered.
