"Good year for students and teachers", Zhupa: 2024 with black records for pre-university education

MP Ina Zhupa, as the head of the Education Committee, congratulates the students and teachers for the new school year and lists a number of problems that the preschool system has in 2024.

She remembers the results of the Pisa test where they were even lower than Palestine at war. 

Zhupa describes Minister Manastirliu as Mrs. Abuzimi and her instructions and the "reform" is only to put in more administrations that deal with the minister's political duties.

Happy school year for students and teachers!

2024 starts as a school year with black records of pre-university education.

Albania is the last in the Pisa Test, leaving behind Palestine, which is at war.

The skills of our students have gone back in the 2000s and functional illiteracy has deepened.

This year records with official data the closure of 295 9-year-old schools during the Rama government.

The Ministry of Education Manastirliu, or Mrs. Abuzimi, is centralizing and bureaucratizing education, adding patronage and Facebook for campaigning but not jobs and money for the quality of education. We remain the country with 2.1% of GDP for education, the lowest in the region.

47% of children will go to school with an empty stomach, or malnourished, having in their hands some used books that only knowledge cannot give.

The teachers in the districts count the students who run away, with the hope that they will not be burdened and will not be dismissed as unnecessary, especially those whose political beliefs are different from the patronage political directors.

The teachers know that the basic task for this school year will be the lists of voters who will be voters of the Socialist Party rather than the list of grades and books for their students.

In 2024, there will still be teaching in shifts, even in the middle of Tirana, there will still be overcrowded classes and a lack of infrastructure and didactic tools.

Digital classrooms and pompous speeches with them are not tangible realities where in 50% of rural schools there is no internet at all.

The panorama of 2024 is bleak but our task is to fight together for change, for improvement and for eradicating evil.

As the head of the Education Committee, I will use every parliamentary tool so that education is at the center of decision-making and accountability is an obligation.
